Leonard Hubert Special Guest of Senator Rob Portman at the National Prayer Breakfast

Senator Rob Portman announced that Bishop Timothy J. Clarke, Senior Pastor of First Church of God and local community leader Leonard J. Hubert joined him as his guests of honor for the 59th Annual National Prayer Breakfast in our nation’s capital.

“The Prayer Breakfast is a great opportunity for all to come together as one, share their faith and pray for the goodwill of our nation,” said Portman.  “It is an honor to have Bishop Clarke and Leonard Hubert join me for this significant event in Washington today.”

Mr. Leonard Hubert has over two decades of dedicated service and experience in public sector administration and most recently served as Director of External Affairs and Economic Opportunity in the Office of the Governor.  He is also chairman of the Ohio Commission on African American Males.  In addition, Mr. Hubert serves as a member of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King Commission, Granville Township Board of Zoning Appeals, Licking County Tax Incentive Review Council and the Ohio 4-H Foundation Board.

“It is an honor to be a guest of my friend Senator Rob Portman at the 59th Annual National Prayer Breakfast.   I enjoy days of recognition like the national day of prayer because they remind me of the privilege we have in America to celebrate and be thankful for divine providence in the history and current affairs of our country.  Shared national prayer is reflection and appreciation of our past and hopeful anticipation in our future,” said Hubert.
